Brett Kabla Ya Rasta!!!
Today was vaccination day! Everyone had to get 2 shots but lucky me had to also get the last Hep B shot. 3 shots in one day is never good but I had felt relaxed about it because our PCMO is so amazing and always brings candy! Well, she wasnt there today and her replacement was a man with zero empathy for wussy American girls! Ouch!! I cried about it – he didnt care…. So the day was a bust but I went home and decided NOT to go to my room! I was going to try to be happy and intergrate with my host family like a good PC volunteer :) So I taught them how to make French Fries!!! Win Win!!!
As we were cooking my “Mama” started asking all about our wedding :) So I went and got our photo book to show her… Haha the first thing she says is “Aaaaiiiii Brett kabla ya rasta!!!” and she died laughing!! (“Brett before dreads”) it made my day for some strange reason! She continued asking tons of questions about all of you!!! Pictures are Amazing! It was fun showing off my family and friends!!

Hello Brett & Brittany, Again I have just finished reading your blog. You are able to make your words come alive on paper . I can see what you are physically experiencing
. That is the mark of a good Author. Your families love you both & are so very thankful for these electronic forms of communication. Love Gramma, (NyaNya) in Swahili
That would have been fun for her to see ! I want to see pictures of you and your new mama … she will be with you on your anniversary : ( but so happy you are with a family who cares about you both ! The story about him calling to check on you when he didn’t hear from you REALLY made me feel great about the family you have been blessed with !
As far as your french fries ??? Did you use my dipping sauce ??? How did they turn out ??? That is real HOME FRIES :)
Shots ??? I use to let your daddy take you in to the doctor so I didn’t have to watch – he let me give you the CANDY when you came out : ) he got to make sure you were ok – I got to make sure you left with a smile … ok … half smile … WIN … WIN : )
Keep the stories coming !
I love that you are sharing the stories of your lives with so much depth. I hope retelling these stories brings you joy as you learn their story in a different context. Sharing pictures and cooking together is such a wonderful way for you to build bonds. We miss you and love you!!!
I think the best Bretts hair has looked was when it was long, & Shiny, BEFORE the dreads. I’m so very glad you’re able to show photos to “your Family” Sometimes people who give shots are enjoying it, either that or they know the good purpose the shots serve. Anyway I’m with you I hate needles.
Have a good day my grandchildren.
Im glad it turned around for you. Nothing like telling stories of happy times to brighten the day. As for Brett, it is hard to picture him without the dreds so I can see that reaction. I love you guys.
